The project is huge in scale, with an annual output of 800,000 tonnes, processing iron ore with strict requirements for finished product particle size. Facing the challenges of plateau operation, ultra-fine granularity and cave mining materials, Liming Group's joint research team successfully solved the problem, realised the three-stage two closed-circuit operation, reduced the equipment investment and operation cost, demonstrated the high-quality equipment performance and team experience, and assisted the development of western China.
I. Project Overview
The project is large in scale, with an annual output of 800,000 tonnes. The processing material is iron ore, and the taste of raw ore is as high as 55%. The finished product particle size requirement is strict, need to reach below 8mm. For equipment configuration, NK mobile station (NK150-4+NK300HS) is adopted, and the raw materials are sourced from the cave mining of its own mine. The finished material is mainly used for grinding.
Process design difficulties and solutions
The project faces multiple challenges in process design. Firstly, the operation environment is located in the plateau area with an altitude of 3200 metres; secondly, the finished product particle size requirement is very high, which needs to reach the ultra-fine particle size of -8mm; and lastly, the hole-mined material contains part of finished product, and the finished product pile is required to meet the operation pile quantity for at least one day.
In response to these difficulties, Liming Group has set up a joint research team composed of engineering, R&D, production and other departments. They successfully solved these problems by optimising the frame design, enlarging the silo and vibrating screen models, configuring the high-performance cone breaker mainframe, and replacing the plateau motor and electrical cabinet. Eventually, Liming NK150-4 and NK300HS two vehicles successfully realised three sections and two closed-circuit operations, compared with other brands that need at least three vehicles to complete the same process configuration, which effectively reduces the equipment investment and operation cost.
The successful application of Liming Group's combined mobile station in the iron ore mine site in Xinjiang not only shows its high quality equipment performance and rich team experience, but also makes positive contribution to the development of the western frontier.
