Construction on the Lower Yarlung Zangbo River Hydropower Project has commenced with a total investment of 1.2 trillion yuan, demonstrating China's ambition for hydropower technology. Shibang Group is helping build the "world's tallest dam" at Shuangjiangkou, supporting construction with a 1,000-ton-per-hour sand and gravel production line. In the Lianghekou project, the VSI6X sand making machine, with a 600-ton-per-hour production capacity, provides the dam's "iron backbone," propelling my country from an energy powerhouse to a powerhouse.
On July 19th, construction officially began on the Lower Yarlung Zangbo River Hydropower Project. Li Qiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, attended the groundbreaking ceremony and declared the project operational. This world-class project, with a total investment of approximately 1.2 trillion yuan, is not only a major measure for implementing the "dual carbon" strategy but also a landmark project in my country's efforts to build a new energy system. It demonstrates China's ambition and technological prowess in hydropower development in the new era. Amidst the grand landscape of China's booming hydropower sector, giant hydropower stations like Shuangjiangkou and Lianghekou, in which Shibang Group has a deep involvement, shine like shining pearls, connecting the historical threads of clean energy development. With its core technology and commitment to responsibility, Shibang Group has injected strong momentum into the rise of these powerhouses.

Building a Dam in a Gorge, Shuangjiangkou Sets a New Benchmark for Global Hydropower

Amid the towering mountains of the western Sichuan Plateau, the Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station will stand majestically as the "world's tallest dam." This massive water conservancy project, spanning Ma'erkang and Jinchuan counties, is a key reservoir and power station in the mainstream of the Dadu River Basin, carrying the dual missions of a key project in the country's 14th Five-Year Plan and the Western Development Strategy.
Faced with the extreme construction environment of high altitude, high slopes, high-order geostress, high water head, and deep foundation pits, Shibang Group leveraged the Smart Dam Collaborative Command Platform to integrate high-quality sand and gravel aggregate into every cubic meter of dam fill, providing a solid material guarantee for the project's progress. This 1,000-ton-per-hour sand and gravel production line has been operating smoothly for six years, running 20 hours daily, continuously delivering manufactured sand for the construction of the Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station. Today, this world-class tall dam is steadily rising, empowered by technology.
Project Overview
Materials: Blasting material for reservoir construction, tunnel boring feed
Equipment: HST cone crusher, HPT cone crusher, VSI6X sand making machine, S5X vibrating screen
Output: Stable production capacity 1000 t/h, processing capacity 1200 t/h

Finished products: Machine-made sand, 1-2mm, 1-3mm, mixed material (4-8 cm)
Swords of the Canyon: Lianghekou forges a new energy hub in Southwest China
Located on the mainstream of the Yalong River, the Lianghekou Hydropower Station, known as "China's largest hybrid pumped-storage project," is the first of six major hydropower bases in Southwest my country to enter operation.
Shanghai Shibang Group's technological prowess is fully demonstrated in this mega-project, which combines "the world's largest high-slope complex" with "China's highest flood discharge head." To ensure the quality of the 43 million cubic meter dam fill, the Shibang VSI6X vertical shaft impact crusher, with its high performance, advanced configuration, and high stability, and a stable production capacity of 600 tons per hour, became the "iron backbone" of the dam's strength. The outstanding performance of the Shibang VSI6X sand making machine in the Lianghekou project not only ensured the project's on-schedule commissioning, but also provided reliable equipment support for the green and intensive construction of large-scale pumped storage projects, and accumulated valuable experience in hydropower construction under complex geological conditions.
Project Overview
Raw Materials: Metamorphic Sandstone Intercalated with Slate
Production Capacity: 600 t/h
Equipment: VSI6X Sand Making Machine
Stay true to our original aspirations, supporting the national energy power strategy with our core strength.
From the towering dam at Shuangjiangkou to the clean energy output of Lianghekou, Shibang Group has consistently resonated with the national hydropower industry. In my country's historic transition from "following" to "leading" hydropower development, driven by innovation, we have translated technological breakthroughs into practical engineering practices, developing a series of replicable and scalable solutions for high-altitude, high-difficulty hydropower projects.
From the southwest canyons to the southeast coast, from the peaks of the plateau to the banks of rivers, the rise of hydropower projects is jointly outlining China's grand blueprint for transitioning from an energy powerhouse to an energy superpower, contributing a continuous stream of green energy to achieving the "dual carbon" goals and building a community with a shared future for mankind.
Standing at a new historical starting point, Shibang Group is embracing the energy revolution with a broader vision and more sophisticated technology.
