Cobalt Ore Characteristics
China's cobalt metal resources are about 1.4 million tonnes, the vast majority of which are associated resources, and there are very few separate cobalt deposits. Cobalt is a kind of magnetic hard metal with high melting point and good stability, with permanent magnetism, steel grey and metallic luster, melting point is 1495℃, boiling point is 2900℃, with high temperature resistance, its main physical and chemical parameters and iron, nickel close to the iron group of elements, is a kind of important strategic materials.
Cobalt ore investment prospects
1、Domestic demand exceeds supply. In recent years, China's annual consumption of cobalt is stable at about 1200t, the domestic production of cobalt can not meet the domestic demand, about half of the annual need for imports.
2、Cobalt is also an important part of magnetic alloy. Magnetic alloys are indispensable materials in modern electronic and electromechanical industries, which are used to manufacture a variety of components of acoustic, optical, electrical and magnetic equipment.
3, cobalt in the battery sector consumption growth rate is high. Cobalt in the battery industry, diamond tool industry and catalyst industry applications will also be further expanded, so that the demand for cobalt metal is on the rise.
4, in the chemical industry, cobalt in addition to high-temperature alloys and anti-corrosion alloys, but also used for coloured glass, pigments, enamel and catalysts, desiccants and so on.

However, domestic cobalt ores include four major categories: copper-nickel cobalt ores, copper cobalt ores, iron cobalt ores and cobalt earth ores, for which different beneficiation methods need to be adopted for different main minerals.
