Vanadium-titanium magnetite is not only an important source of iron, but also associated vanadium, titanium, chromium, cobalt, nickel, platinum group and scandium and other components. Vanadium and titanium magnetite rock body is divided into two categories: basal rock type and basal-ultra-basal rock type, which is generally autogenous, semi-autogenous or other form of granular output, coarse particle size, easy to break and dissociate.
China's vanadium and titanium magnetite beds are widely distributed, rich in reserves, reserves and mining volume ranked third in the country's iron ore, mainly in Sichuan Panzhihua - Xichang area, Hebei Chengde area, Shaanxi Hanzhong area, Hubei Utopia, Xiangyang area, Guangdong Xingning and Shanxi Daixian area and so on. Among them, Panzhihua-Xichang area is the main metallogenic belt of vanadium-titanium magnetite in the country of search, and it is also one of the important production areas of the same kind of deposit in the world.
Beneficiation of Vanadium-Titanium Magnetite
The raw ore is crushed by three-stage open-circuit crushing process, the grinding operation adopts one-stage closed-circuit grinding and three-stage magnetic separation process to obtain iron and vanadium concentrates, and the magnetic separation tailings adopts the spiral beneficiation-flotation electro-electrowinning process to obtain sulphur diamond concentrates and titanium concentrates. Three kinds of separation processes are developed to recover granular ilmenite from magnetic separation tailings: ① spiral separation - flotation (sulphide minerals)-electrowinning process; ② strong magnetic separation and spiral separation - flotation (sulphide minerals)-electrowinning process; ③ chute and spiral separation - flotation (sulphide minerals)-electrowinning process; and -Flotation (sulphide minerals)-electrowinning process.
The main equipments of the whole process include jaw crusher, classifier, spiral chute, flotation machine, magnetic separator, ball mill, ore feeder and so on.
