Chromite is a shortage mineral, with small reserves and low production, and is a magmatic mineral that looks much like magnetite in appearance, usually in massive or granular aggregates. It is composed mainly of oxides of iron, magnesium and chromium, with a hardness of 5.5 to 6 on the Mohs scale, a specific gravity of 3.9 to 4.8, and is weakly magnetic. It is quite hard, black with semi-metallic luster. The origins of chromite in China include Tibet, Gansu and Shaanxi.

Chromite use

1、In the foundry industry, it is used for large cast steel parts, casting sand, ladle diversion sand;

3、In chemical industry, it is used to produce refractory materials such as magnesium chromium sand and magnesium chromium brick;

Chromite ore dressing process
