Large open-pit mines have the characteristics of large ore output, large feeding size and long-term continuous operation, which put forward high requirements for primary crushing equipment. Gyratory crushers, with their super-large feeding capacity, high efficiency and stable operation, have become the core primary crushing equipment for 500TPH+ large-scale open-pit mines in Colombia, Ecuador and other South American countries.
Compared with traditional jaw crushers, gyratory crushers have obvious advantages in large-scale production: the feeding port is large, which can handle ore blocks with a diameter of more than 1 meter, reducing the number of pre-crushing links; the crushing cavity is deep, the crushing ratio is high, and the processing capacity is 30% higher than that of jaw crushers of the same specification; the continuous crushing mode reduces the impact of equipment start and stop on production efficiency, and is more suitable for long-term high-load working conditions.
The core technical features of gyratory crushers include: high-strength eccentric shaft and bearing, which can withstand large impact force; optimized crushing cavity design, which improves the crushing efficiency and reduces the wear of the liner; hydraulic adjustment system, which can quickly adjust the discharge port and realize overload protection; intelligent monitoring system, which can real-time monitor the operation parameters of the equipment and issue fault early warnings in time.

In practical applications, gyratory crushers are widely used in large open-pit copper mines, iron ore mines and limestone mines. For example, in a 600TPH open-pit copper mine in Colombia, a gyratory crusher is used for primary crushing, with a daily processing capacity of 14,400 tons, which ensures the continuous supply of ore for subsequent processing links. The equipment has operated stably for more than 3 years, with low maintenance cost and high equipment utilization rate.
