During the crushing operation of the cone crusher, due to the transportation of materials and the operation of the equipment, a large number of fine particles will be dispersed in the surrounding space, causing damage to the operators and equipment. This dusty gas needs to be separated into gas-solid phases to purify the air. Dust removal is mainly based on the characteristics of dust particles, such as particle size, density, concentration, adhesion, hygroscopicity and electrostatic characteristics, and is completed in the corresponding equipment using gravity, inertia, centrifugal force, washing, filtration and electrostatic dust removal.

1. Gravity dust removal can handle coarse particles above 100UM, and is used for pretreatment of coarse dust removal and other fine dust removal. The operation method is to introduce the dusty gas into a large-volume gravity sedimentation box, reduce the gas flow rate, and use gravity to make the particles settle and separate from the gas.

2. Inertial dust removal can be used to separate particles above 5UM from gas. When the dust-laden gas is directional deflected, it impacts on the baffle of the inertial dust collector. The particles are captured due to inertia. In order to prevent the scattering effect during impact and collision, high flow rate cannot be used.


3. Centrifugal dust removal uses the centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the gas, which is hundreds to thousands of times greater than the gravity of the particles, to make the solid particles settle along the peripheral wall. The equipment used is a cyclone dust collector, which usually has an inlet velocity of 10-20M/S and can capture smaller particles with a diameter of 5UM or less.


4. Washing dust removal makes the gas contact with spray water to capture the solid particles in it. The commonly used spray dust tower introduces gas from the bottom, and water is sprayed into mist from the top for countercurrent washing.

5. Electrostatic dust removal charges the solid particles in the gas, so that they are attracted to the oppositely charged electrode to achieve the purpose of dust removal. The electrostatic precipitator applies a DC voltage of tens of thousands of volts between the metal discharge electrodes, causing the gas between the two electrodes to ionize. When the negatively ionized gas collides with solid particles, the solid particles also become negatively charged and are attracted by the positive electrode. After the charge is neutralized, they settle down. This method is suitable for fine dust removal with high requirements; however, the dust concentration cannot be too high and the gas flow rate cannot be too fast.
