The methods of coal-fired desulfurization in power plants can be divided into three categories : before combustion, during combustion and after combustion according to the sequence of the desulfurization process. Before combustion known as coal desulfurization mainly washing coal, chemical desulfurization and coal conversion ; combustion known as furnace desulfurization mainly circulating fluidized bed and furnace desulfurization with combustion ; post-combustion desulfurization is also known as flue gas desulfurization. According to the temperature of the desulfurization medium, it can be divided into wet, dry and semi-dry methods. At present, the mainstream desulfurization method used in thermal power plants is flue gas desulfurization.

Application of LM Vertical Roller Mill in Flue Gas Desulfurization Process of Spraying Calcium Tail Humidification in Furnace

Furnace calcium injection and tail flue gas humidification activation desulfurization process is based on the furnace calcium injection desulfurization process in the boiler tail added humidification section to improve the desulfurization efficiency. Limestone powder is used as the absorbent in this process. Limestone powder is injected into the furnace from 850 °C to 1150 °C by air force. Limestone is decomposed into calcium oxide and carbon dioxide by heat. Calcium oxide reacts with sulfur dioxide in flue gas to form calcium sulfite. Since the reaction is carried out between the gas-solid two-phase, affected by the mass transfer process, the reaction rate is slow and the absorbent utilization is low. In the tail humidifying activation reactor, the humidifying water is sprayed in a mist, which is in contact with the unreacted calcium oxide to form calcium hydroxide and then reacts with sulfur dioxide in the flue gas. When the calcium-sulfur ratio is controlled at 2.0 ~ 2.5, the desulfurization rate of the system can reach 65 ~ 80 %. Due to the addition of humidifying water, the flue gas temperature decreases, and the outlet flue gas temperature is generally controlled to be 10 ~ 15 °C higher than the dew point temperature. The humidifying water is rapidly evaporated due to the heating of the flue gas temperature. The unreacted absorbent and reaction product are discharged with the flue gas in a dry state and collected by the dust collector.
